Disneyland Hong Kong Hotels
For visitors arriving from out of town, two new hotels are opening up right inside the complex. Choose between the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, a luxury Victorian-style hotel set on the shore of Penny’s Bay; or Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, inspired by the golden age of Tinseltown. Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
Located just a few minutes’ walk from Hong Kong Disneyland Park, the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is intended to recall the romance of hotels at the turn of the century. The six-storey resort features 400 rooms in a lush landscape of gardens, water features and a Mickey Mouse-inspired botanical maze. Room rates start from HK$1,600 for a Park View and HK$1,800 for a Sea View room. The style of the building is reminiscent of the Victorian era, with details like iron lattice work and balustrades. Its snow-white towers are sure to make a dramatic first impression on guests. The grand lobby features a large atrium space, which reaches four storeys high to an illuminated dome ceiling.
Guests can enjoy garden and water views through soaring glass, and the
chance to sit while observing people in the caged elevator or on the
walkways above. Tall ferns and ornate chandeliers complete the mood.
Its signature restaurant, the 220-seat Crystal Lotus, presents dishes from
China’s four main culinary regions – delicacies from Sichuan, Beijing,
Shanghai and Guangdong are all represented on the menu. The elegant space
was designed by Adam Tihany, famous for his work on the Mandarin Bar in
London.
The Enchanted Garden Restaurant takes the shape of a Victorian-style
conservatory, complete with potted palms and an arched glass ceiling, which
allows natural sunlight to stream in. A highlight of the experience here
will be special guest appearances by Disney characters, who will join guests
for breakfast and dinner.
The top floor of the hotel houses deluxe guestrooms and suites, and the
Kingdom Club – a 74-seat concierge lounge serving snacks and cocktails. With
its views over the theme park, it’s the top spot for enjoying the fireworks
at night. A Victorian Spa offers full-service spa treatments, with 10
individual and three double rooms, all designed to complement the Victorian
theme of the hotel. The changing rooms feature whirlpools and saunas for
pre-treatment relaxation.
Disney Hollywood Hotel
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel is designed in Art Deco style with Mickey Mouse motifs. It pays tribute to the golden age of movies, when Hollywood was the centre of the world – and the only business was show business.
It offers 600 rooms, with rates starting from HK$1,000 for a Garden View, HK$1,100 for a Park View and HK$1,200 for a Sea View room.
Fun details abound in the hotel, with movie and Art Deco motifs reflected in everything from the light fixtures and carpets in the public areas to the wall coverings and bedspreads in the guest rooms, creating a ‘Disney Deco’ ambience. Chef Mickey, a 280-seat buffet restaurant, pays tribute to movies and to the world’s best-known mouse. Lights shine through oversized film reels suspended from the ceiling. A special buffet for children is set out on miniature tables, to entice even the youngest guests. For guests wanting to dine outdoors, the Sunset Terrace offers the ultimate barbeque venue.
True to its name, it’s the perfect place for evening sundowners. Located nearby, next to the swimming pool, the Piano Pool Bar is the place for tropical drinks and snacks. But the major outdoor feature is the lawn that unfolds like a map of Los Angeles, with well-known Hollywood streets and sights. The pedestrian walkways are modelled after landmarks like the Hollywood Freeway, Sunset Boulevard and Mulholland Drive. An ‘Avenue of the Stars’ bears hand-prints of celebrities. And the legendary ‘Hollywood’ sign is bound to be a popular photo spot.
